Occupational Wellbeing

Occupational Wellbeing

Occupational Wellbeing is expressed by the degree of personal satisfaction and enrichment in our life through our occupation. Enhancing our occupational wellbeing may include finding a job that integrates and balances our skills and interests, or discovering a more satisfying way to incorporate our skills and interests into our current career. It also may encompass maintaining a suitable balance between work and other dimensions of our life. Finding a healthy way to integrate work into our life can enhance personal satisfaction and overall wellbeing.

Staying Cool in the Sun

Like to spend time soaking up the sun? Prevent dehydration by planning ahead for your sunny adventures. Take extra water to all outdoor events where you may experience increased activity, fluid loss such as sweating, and heat stress. Also, limit alcohol and caffeine on hot days; both increase fluid loss and can lead to dehydration. Lastly, shade yourself! Wear light colored, loose fitting clothing when you know you'll be out in the sun for awhile, and find some shade or a cool area where you can periodically retreat from the rays.
