Environmental Wellbeing

Environmental Wellbeing reflects our degree of awareness and appreciation of the critical role the environment plays in our individual wellbeing; an understanding that humans are part of the environment and not separate from it; that all human activity impacts the environment and can jeopardize the environment's ability to provide essential services needed to sustain life.

The environment is the basic foundation of individual wellbeing. Often referred to as natural capital, the environment functions and interacts with human systems, social systems, and the built environment. Environmental wellbeing is embedded within many of the dimensions of the wellbeing wheel because of people's continual direct interaction with their physical surroundings.  Environmental wellbeing can be maximized by accepting personal responsibility for the conservation of our natural resources, preservation of nature's beauty and insuring all ecosystem services remain viable.

Keeping our Rivers Clean
Polluted stormwater can be a leading contaminant in our rivers.  To help keep our rivers clean, keep your vehicles maintained so they do not leak fluids, and avoid washing your car in the street or parking lot.
